Bob began his career as an associate at Littler Mendelson, spent a few years as an in-house labor and employment counsel at Merck, and then was a partner at a number of major law firms: Epstein Becker, Thelen Marrin Johnson & Bridges (later Thelen), Nixon Peabody, and, now, Baker Dolinko & Schwartz. Bob has more than 45 years of experience in labor and employment matters. He is well-known and respected in the Bay Area legal community, where he has served as mentor for many attorneys, including his current partners, Deborah Schwartz and Chris Baker.
Bob has a wealth of experience counseling individuals on all aspects of their employment relationship. He regularly reviews, negotiates and advises clients on employment, compensation, and severance agreements, as well as difficult workplace dynamics. He litigates before arbitrators, and state and federal trial and appellate courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court. Bob’s many years of experience representing Fortune 500 companies and smaller employers affords him an edge in that he often has a very good idea of what the other side is thinking.
